Options When Transferring User Data on a Garmin Legacy Chartplotter

Garmin chartplotters offer the ability to transfer user data, like waypoints, routes, and tracks, across the Garmin Marine Network or NMEA 2000 network to another compatible device.

NOTE: The Clone and Merge options only apply to legacy chartplotters such as the GPSMAP® 4xxx chartplotters | GPSMAP® 5xxx chartplotters | GPSMAP® 6xxx chartplotters | GPSMAP® 7xxx chartplotters 

To transfer the data across the network, please follow these steps:

1. Power on the chartplotter

2. Select I Agree when the button appears on the screen

3. Select Information

4. Select User Data

5. Select Data Transfer

6. Two options will be available for the transfer of user data

   • Clone User Data - This option will cause the user data from the chartplotter that is initiating the clone to replace the user data on all other chartplotters that are connected in the network

   • Merge User Data - This option will take the user data from all the chartplotters in the network and combine them into one database file, then the database file will be copied to all devices
