Sharing Information From a GPSMAP® 3xxx Series Device to a Newer Network Devices

Garmin® offers devices that can connect through the Garmin marine network. These devices are able to share some data with each other. The GPSMAP® 3xxx, GPSMAP® 4xxx, GPSMAP® 5xxx, GPSMAP® 6xxx, GPSMAP® 7xxx and GPSMAP® 8xxx series devices are able to use the Garmin marine network.

If a GPSMAP 3xxx series device is connected through the network to an echoMAP™ 70 or GPSMAP® 4xxx, GPSMAP® 5xxx, GPSMAP® 6xxx, GPSMAP® 7xxx and GPSMAP® 8xxx series device, not all information can be shared. Here is a list of what data can be shared across the network.

• Sonar (if using a GSD™ 22)
• GPS Position
• XM (if using the GDL™ 30A)
• Radar

Here is a list of what cannot be shared across the network.

• Mapping
• User Data (i.e. waypoints, routes, and tracks)
• NMEA 2000
• XM (if using the GXM 51)
