Editing Targets on a Foretrex with Applied Ballistics

The instructions below are for editing targets on a Foretrex® 701 or Foretrex® 901 wrist-mounted navigator with Applied Ballistics.


Editing the Target Card

  1. From the Applied Ballistics page, press ENTER.
  2. Select TARGET CARD.
  3. Press ENTER.
  4. Select QUICK EDIT.
  5. Press DOWN or UP to scroll through the targets.
  6. Press ENTER to edit information about the target.


Options Available to Edit

  • Target - enter the name for the current target.
  • Range - the distances to target displayed in yards or meters.
  • Direction of Fire (DOF) - the direction of fire with North at 0 degrees and East at 90 degrees.
  • Inclination - the angle of inclination of the shot. A negative value indicates a downhill shot, a positive value indicates an uphill shot. The shooting solution multiplies the vertical portion of the solution by the cosine of the inclination angle to calculate the adjusted solution for an uphill or downhill shot.
  • Speed - the speed of a moving target, displayed in miles per hour (MPH) or kilometers per hour (km/hr). A negative values indicates a target moving left. A positive value indicates a target moving right.


Changing the Target

  1. From the Applied Ballistics page, press ENTER.
  2. Select TARGET > TARGET > CHANGE TARGET.
  3. Select a target.
  4. Select Page until you are back on the Applied Ballistics page.
    The long-range shooting conditions for the selected target appear.
