Route Planner Displays Error "The Vehicle Profile Used To Create This Route Cannot Be Used With This Device."

If you receive the error message "The vehicle profile used to create this route cannot be used with this device. Recalculate the route to work with this device?" when importing a route, the following troubleshooting can be performed to resolve the issue.

Use the Tread® App to Create the Route

Route creation is not supported for the zūmo® XT2 GPS navigator on the Garmin Explore™ website and BaseCamp™ software. If the route was created using Garmin Explore, BaseCamp, or a third-party program, the map and vehicle profile being used may not match the map and vehicle profile being used on the zūmo XT2. To ensure the map and vehicle profile match, use the Tread app to create the route. For steps to create a route in the Tread app see Using the Route Planner in the Tread App.

Ensure the Vehicle Profile Used to Create the Route in the Tread app is the zumo Motorcycle Profile

The proper vehicle profile used to create the routes in the Tread app for the zūmo XT2 is the zumo Motorcycle profile. If this profile was not used, change the profile to the zumo Motorcycle profile in the Tread app.

1. Open the Tread app

2. Touch the Three Lines

3. Touch the Down Arrow

4. Touch zumo Motorcycle

Import the File as a Track and Convert the Track into a Route on the zūmo XT2

If you want to keep the path as close as possible to what you created, make sure the GPX file was created as a track rather than a route. Then, import the track into the Tread app or directly to the device. Once on the device, you can convert the track to a route, which will keep things as close as possible. To convert the track into a route see Save Part of a Track Log as a Route.
