Garmin Dive Computer and SubWave Network Air Integration Transmitter Compatibility
Descent™ dive computers such as the Descent™ Mk2i and Descent™ Mk3i watches, and the Descent™ X50i dive computer have the ability to pair to Descent™ transmitters which use SubWave™ underwater communication network technology to report air tank pressure and diver depth during a dive. Descent™ T2 transmitters use updated technology that allows you to send and receive preset messages underwater using your paired Descent Mk3i watch or Descent X50i dive computer.
You can use either a Descent™ T1 or Descent™ T2 transmitter with any dive computer with air integration, but some features may be limited by the combination of dive computer and transmitter that you have, and your dive computer or transmitter may need a software update before they can function together. Check the table below for device and software compatibility.

I Am Getting an Error When Pairing My Dive Transmitter With My Descent Mk2i Watch
If you are pairing a Descent Mk2i watch on software version 20.40 or earlier to a Descent T2 transmitter, you will get an error when trying to pair. You may also see an error message if your Descent Mk2i watch is on software version 20.40 or earlier and you are trying to pair a Descent T1 transmitter. If you ignore the error, the transmitter may appear to function above the surface, but connection will be lost as you descend under water. To resolve this, update the software on your Descent Mk2i watch to the latest version. See Installing the Latest Software On the Descent Mk2 Series for information about the latest software version and how to update your watch.

How Do I Use the Diver to Diver Messaging?
SubWave underwater network diver to diver messaging is available for air integrated Descent dive computers that are paired with Descent T2 transceivers. Descent T1 transmitters are not compatible with messaging even if you have a compatible dive computer. Descent Mk3i dive watches and Descent X50i dive computers are able to send and receive messages. Descent Mk2i dive watches can receive messages, but are unable to send messages. See Setup and Use of the SubWave Diver to Diver Messaging for full instructions.
How Do I Use the Diver Distance Feature?
Approximate diver distance from you is available onall air integrated Descent dive computers with any Descent transmitter with up to date software. See Setup and Use of the SubWave Diver Distance for full instructions.
