(2023) Service Bulletin 23078 Rev A: Approval of GTN 6XX/7XX Software Version 6.73 and GTN Xi Software Version 20.31

PRODUCTS AFFECTED:

GTN 6XX/7XX and GTN Xi systems installed in accordance with STC SR02120SE are affected.

COMPLIANCE:

Recommended: For GTN 6XX/7XX products, compliance with STC Service Bulletin 23078 is recommended at the next service interval.

Optional: For GTN Xi products, compliance with STC Service Bulletin 23078 is optional and may be incorporated at the owner’s discretion.

PURPOSE:

This STC Service Bulletin provides notification of an update to STC SR02120SE MDL Revision 13.

Major details of the update are:

• Updated GTN 6XX/7XX main software to Software Version 6.73:
  
  • Fixed an issue with importing flight plans from a PED.
    
  • Fixed an issue related to flight plan export to a PED. Changing the active leg will now trigger the flight plan to export.
    
  • Fixed an issue to prevent unintended changing of the active frequency to the emergency frequency on a power cycle.
    
  • Fixed an issue where a Low Battery system message was annunciated when GPS reported invalid data/time.
    
  • Fixed an issue so VOR approach navigation is not aborted with loss of GPS navigation
    
  • Made improvements to loading a Hold-In-Lieu-of-Procedure Turn (HILPT) as part of an approach by removing additional waypoints that were included between the hold leg and the following hold fix leg.
    
  • Fixed a database sync issue with G500H TXi (v3.50) and GI 275 (v2.60). Databases will now sync properly with G500H and GI 275 units.
    
  • Fixed an issue where the OBS mode could be activated between the FAF and MAP using the OBS Mode Select discrete input.
    
  • Fixed an issue described in Garmin Service Advisory 2185, where loading a GPS-based approach before the system has determined a valid GPS position may result in the system aborting the approach in areas without SBAS or for systems that have SBAS disabled.
    
• Updated GTN Xi main software to Software Version 20.31:
  
  • Fixed an issue so the display of NAV angle values on the flight plan page matches the pilot selected NAV units.
    
  • Fixed an issue to display the Mute Alert button on the ADS-B Traffic page and Alert popup.
    
  • Improved Database SYNC system message so it clears after viewing.
    
  • Fixed an issue where a database transfer status would indicate one hundred percent complete when a database transfer had failed.
    
  • Expanded database information page to include FliteChart and SafeTaxi® database region information.
    
  • Fixed an issue where a Low Battery system message was annunciated when GPS reported invalid data/time.
    
  • Made an improvement to the Connext® setup page, so GTX™ icon is removed when Bluetooth is disabled on the GTX.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

For GTN 6XX/7XX installations, this modification is warranty reimbursable with a deadline of January 31, 2024.

For GTN Xi installations, this modification is not warranty reimbursable.
