Changing the Position Format on the GPSMAP 78, 79, and 86 Series Device
GPS coordinates can be displayed in different formats depending on the source or use. Garmin's default position format is hddd° mm.mmm. You can change the way GPSMAP® 78, 79 and 86 series of marine handhelds display the coordinates of your location by changing the position format.
To change the position format:
Go to the Main Menu
Select Setup
Select Position Format
Select the Position Format Box
Select the position format you would like to use
The position format is now changed, and this format will now display all of the coordinates on the Garmin device. For more information on the position format options review the related content.
