Changing the Position Format on a Garmin® Marine Device

GPS coordinates can be displayed in different formats depending on the source or use. For example, published fishing maps or guides will list a legend that states the position format used. It's essential to match the chartplotter's position format to the waypoint. If the position formats do not match, the waypoint will display in the wrong location. Garmin® 's default position format is hddd° mm.mmm. 

To change the position format on the chartplotter 

On a GPSMAP® chartplotter, an ECHOMAP™ UHD2 chartplotter or an ECHOMAP™ Ultra 2 chartplotter: Settings > Preferences > Units > Position Format select the correct position format.

On an ECHOMAP™ chartplotter or STRIKER™ fishfinder: Settings > Units > Position Format, select the correct position format. 

The position format will now display all coordinates on the chartplotter in the new selection.
