Requesting Weather Forecasts With the GPSMAP 66i/67i/86i/86sci

With up-to-date software, the GPSMAP® 66i, 67i, 86i, and 86sci devices automatically provides both premium/extended forecast data and marine forecast data, if available, whenever a new weather forecast is requested. This article will cover how to request weather forecasts from the inReach® device only. For information on requesting weather using the Garmin Messenger™ app or Garmin Explore™ app, see Related.

Important Notes

  • Updating a forecast may incur data charges or additional usage charges.

  • A marine forecast will be included for locations on an ocean or other large body of water, if available. If you are unable to get a marine forecast, select a location further from shore.

  • The GPSMAP 66i/67i/86i/86sci devices have two weather options: inReach Weather and Active Weather. This article is for inReach Weather only. For information on Active Weather, see - Differences Between inReach Weather and Active Weather.
