Battery Charging Issues with an Alpha 200 Plus or Alpha 300 Series Handheld
If the Lithium-ion battery for the Alpha® 200 Plus or Alpha 300 dog tracking handheld is not charging at all or fails to charge completely, follow these instructions.
NOTE: Use the USB charging cable and AC adaptor that came with the Alpha 200 Plus or Alpha 300 to ensure a proper charge.
Battery Not Charging
- Make sure the software is up to date with the Garmin Express™ program. For instructions,
- Trying a different Garmin USB cable and AC adaptor.
- Leave the Alpha handheld connected to charge for 3 hours.
- If the Alpha handheld is showing that the battery is charging but the battery is not taking a charge the battery would need to be replaced.
- If after changing the charging cables if the Alpha handheld is not showing any sign of charging, the device the device may need to be exchange.
Battery Not Charging to 100%
- Make sure the software is up to date with the Garmin Express™ program. For instructions,
- Try recalibrating the battery;
- Charge the battery in the Alpha handheld for 3 hours.
- Allow the battery to completely discharge.
- Charge for 3 hours.
- Repeat Steps 1-3 up to 3 times to recalibrate the battery.
- If the battery continues to not complete a charge a replacement battery may be needed.
