Getting Started With A Replacement BMW Motorrad Navigator VI
If you have received a replacement BMW Motorrad Navigator VI, we have some helpful resources below for getting started.
Installing and Charging the Battery:
The battery for your replacement BMW Motorrad Navigator VI will come as a separate item in the box and require installation. You must install the battery before attempting to use the device, connect it to power, or connect it to a computer.
Your device will arrive with the battery discharged in compliance with regulations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and require charging. See Charging an Automotive Device.
See the video below for instructions to access the battery compartment and install the new battery.
Updating Maps and Software:
There will be updates available for your replacement device when you receive it. We recommend installing all updates before using it the first time to ensure you have all the latest mapping data and software.
See Updating Automotive Maps and Software with Garmin Express for instructions.
Acquiring GPS Signals:
When you turn on your navigation device, the GPS receiver must collect satellite data and establish the current location. The first time you turn on your navigation device, it may take several minutes to acquire satellite signals. Taking the device outdoors with a clear view of the entire sky is recommended to acquire satellites.
If your device is not acquiring satellites, see Garmin Automotive Device isn't Acquiring Satellites.
