What is Extended Display Mode?
Certain Edge® cycling computers can display data fields from compatible Garmin multisport watches during activities. This is helpful for multistage activities such as triathlons, duathlons, or brick workouts, since the full activity can be recorded on the watch, but grants the functionality of the Edge for cycling portions of the activity. It allows you to see your cumulative stats, such as total time and distance, right on your Edge device and, after saving the activity, complete statistics can be viewed in your Garmin Connect™ account.
Compatible Devices
The following lists show what Edge cycling computers are compatible with showing the extended data fields from a watch, and what watches are compatible with sending the data fields to an Edge unit.
