Using Garmin Express to Update Maps for a Garmin Watch

Preinstalled maps on Garmin watches are periodically updated. When updates are available, you can install them using the Garmin Express™ program.

If this is your first time using a computer with your watch, you will need to download and install the Garmin Express software.

Installing All Available Map Updates

1. Connect your watch to your computer with the USB charging cable.
2. Launch Garmin Express program.
3. Select your watch.
   • NOTE: If this is your first time using Garmin Express, see - Adding and Removing Devices in Garmin Express.
4. Select Install or Install All. 
   
5. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the updates.

After the watch has applied the changes, it will be ready to use.

Installing Select Map Updates

1. Connect your watch to your computer with the USB charging cable.
2. Launch Garmin Express program.
3. Select your watch.
   • NOTE: If this is your first time using Garmin Express, see - Adding and Removing Devices in Garmin Express.
4. Select View Details.
5. Click Install next to the map you would like to update.
6. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the selected update. 
7. Repeat this process for any other maps with updates available that you would like to install. 

After the watch has applied the changes, it will be ready to use.
