How the Routing Preferences Work on a zumo Series Device
Most automotive devices provide you with multiple route preference options. An explanation of these route preferences can be found below:
- Shorter Distance: The device creates a route that is a shorter driving distance between two points
- Faster Time: The device uses information including posted speed limits, road types, and driving distance to create a route that is faster even if it may be a longer distance
- Off Road or Straight Line: The device draws a geographical straight line route between two points, or "as the crow flies". This is also known as a bearing. This route will not follow any roads.
- Curvy Roads: The zumo 390 and 590 can calculate routes that prefer curvy roads; this feature can provide a more enjoyable ride, but it may increase the time or distance to your destination.
- Adventurous Route: The zumo 395, 396, and 595 can create a route using varying levels of curves, hills, and highways.
