"No matches found" or "Cannot find search results" when Searching for an Address or Point of Interest

Error Messages “No matches found” or "Cannot find search results" Displaying when Searching for an Address or Location May be Due to:

  • The maps on the device are not enabled

  • The device is not set to search near the specified location

  • The maps on the device do not contain the region being searched

  • The device is not understanding an address abbreviation or there was a typo

See below for more information to fix these common issues with searching locations.

Ensure the Maps on the Device are Enabled:

See Verifying Maps Installed on an Automotive Device.

Verify the region listed includes the area needed. See North America Map Regions for detailed descriptions of Garmin North American map regions.

See Reinstall or Change Map on an Automotive Device to change the region.

Ensure the Device is Set to Search Near the Specific Location:

See Searching for POIs near a Different Location on an Automotive Device.

Ensure the Maps on the Device Contain the Area Being Searched:

A smaller map region may be installed if the issue was first noticed after completing a map update. See Reinstall or Change Map on an Automotive Device to change the installed region or install the full map to an SD card (recommended).

Ensure the Data Being Entered is Correctly Formatted and There are No Typos:

The device may have trouble finding an address if there is a typo.

    • Double-check spelling if the address can't be found
    • Searching for a street using abbreviations is generally fine (e.g. 123 Main St NE)
    • It is often easier to leave the abbreviation out (e.g. 123 Main) though since addresses are sometimes abbreviated in different ways
    • This will usually give a list of results where the correct address can be selected
    • The device will be searching for the address as it is typed and may provide suggestions
