Using a Third-Party Heading Sensor or Third-Party GPS with the Reactor™ 40 Autopilot
The Reactor™ 40 Autopilot is capable of using a third-party heading sensor or third-party GPS antenna. If using a heading sensor it must output PGN127250 and properly calibrated or it will not be selectable in the autopilot preferred sources. The MSC™ 10 will work as an alternate heading source for a Reactor 40 autopilot system. Garmin's SteadyCast™, GPS 24xd are not suitable options.
Software on the Reactor must be above 2.20. Software is updated through the Garmin marine chartplotter. If the vessel does not have a Garmin® marine chartplotter a NMEA 2000 Network Updater is necessary to update the software. Software updates are located in the Marine Support Center . See related content if using a network updater.
