Garmin Express "Unable to Activate Your Purchase" for an Outdoor Handheld

If you have not purchased a downloadable content (DLC) map in the past, see - Garmin Express Fails While "Downloading Files" to an Outdoor Handheld.

If you have purchased a downloadable content (DLC) map in the past, and are attempting to activate a new purchase of the map in Garmin Express™ software, you may see two copies of the map in the Purchased tab. Clicking on the Activate button may result in one of the following error messages:

  • There was an error installing the content
  • We are unable to activate your purchase at this time
