Recording, Contributing and Downloading Quickdraw™ Contours
Note: On ECHOMAPs with a single microSD card slot the microSD card that holds the Quickdraw™ Contours must be created as the ActiveCaptain® card, however, Do Not Format the microSD card when setting the ActiveCaptain® card or the Quickdraw™ Contours will be lost. Formatting and ActiveCaptain® card deletes all data on the microSD / SD card.
Garmin Quickdraw™ Contours: This feature creates personalized maps with high definition contours of nearly any body of water. No special surveying expertise is required; it automatically interprets the recorded depth values from the transducer into a contour map that appears on the screen as the boat moves along the water. The more time spent in an area, the more accurate the maps become.
Garmin Quickdraw™ Contours requires a depth metric and GPS fix in order to generate maps. The vessel’s speed plays a role in the quality of the recording.
Garmin Quickdraw™ Community: A free, public, online community that enables personal Garmin Quickdraw™ Contours maps to be shared with others. You can also download maps other users have created. The community contributions shared with Garmin are also integrated into the fishing charts for improved detail in more places. This data is also used to create and update high-resolution relief shading for better detail on the water.
Recording Quickdraw™ Contours
A microSD / SD card is required to generate and save maps created using Garmin Quickdraw™ Contours on compatible chartplotters (ECHOMAP™ and GPSMAP® devices)
Striker™ Plus / Vivid units do not have micro/SD card slots. These devices have internal storage allocated specifically for Quickdraw Contour content.
