Devices Powered by NMEA 2000

Garmin primarily uses the NMEA 2000 network to share data between devices and accessories. The majority of these Garmin products will still need to be powered using a directly connected power cable that is connected to the power source of the boat.

There are a few exceptions in which the NMEA 2000 network does supply power to the device or accessory:

  • Intelliducers (NMEA 2000 versions)

  • GBT 10

  • GDL 40*

  • GET 10

  • GFL 10

  • GHC 10

  • GHC 20

  • GHC 50
  • GMI 10 (if the serial number starts with 1Y3)

  • GMI 20

  • GND 10

  • GNT 10

  • GNX 120

  • GNX 130

  • GNX 20

  • GNX 21

  • GRA 10

  • GPS 17x NMEA 2000

  • GPS 19x NMEA 2000

  • GST 10

  • GWS 10

  • GXM 51

  • GXM 52

  • Marine Heading Sensor

  • Smart Transducers (NMEA 2000 versions)

*As of January 1, 2017 weather services were fully disconnected and are no longer available for the GDL 40.
