How to Change the Menus of the Montana 700 Series
The Montana® 700 series handhelds have multiple menus that can be customized to better suit your needs. Steps for changing all of these menus can be found below.

Changing the Main Menu Icons
By default, the Montana 700 series handhelds have some popular pages within the Main Menu. Previous Garmin outdoor users may notice options missing from this menu, they just need to be added.
The steps below go over how to add, remove or move pages within the Main Menu.
- Select
to reach the Main Menu - Select Setup
- Select Menus
- Select Main Menu
- Select an item to change
- Select the desired option: Move Up, Move Down, Insert or Remove
- Note: Not all options will be available depending on the icons current position
The changes should now be saved.
Changing the Favorites Bar Icons
The Favorites Bar is the panel of icons present at the bottom of the screen. It is helpful to change these favorites to pages that you will access most.
These steps allow you to move, remove or add icons from the Favorites bar.
- Select to reach the Main Menu
- Select Setup
- Select Menus
- Select Favorites
- Select the desired option: Move Up, Move Down or Remove
- Note: Not all options will be available depending on the icons current position
- You can only have 6 pages in the Favorites Bar. If you remove one, the Add Page option will appear. To add a page:
- Select Add Page
- Select one of the 3 category tabs: Applications, Setup or Where to?
- Select the desired page from the list
The changes should now be saved.
Changing the Setup Icons
The Setup menu icons cannot be deleted, they can only be moved around.
- Select to reach the Main Menu
- Select Setup
- Select Menus
- Select Setup again
- Select the desired option: Move Up or Move Down
- Note: You may only have one option available depending on the icons current position
The changes should now be saved.
Changing the Find Icons
Find refers to the Where to? menu. The Where to? menu icons cannot be deleted, they can only be moved around.
- Select to reach the Main Menu
- Select Setup
- Select Menus
- Select Find
- Select the desired option: Move Up or Move Down
- Note: You may only have one option available depending on the icons current position
The changes should now be saved.
Menu Style
When editing the menus, you can also choose the Menu Style for how the icons are arranged on the screen as Grid or List. Examples of both can be found below.
