My Edge 130 Will Not Power On

If you are experiencing an issue where your Edge 130 will not turn on, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Confirm that your power/data cable is not damaged.
    • Check the charging points to ensure they are free of debris and not damaged.

  2. Check the charging contact points on the back of the device for dirt or debris.
    • Use a pencil eraser or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean them.  

  3. Make sure the device is not frozen or locked up.
    • While the Edge is plugged into external power, press and hold the power button (left button) for up to 30 seconds. If the device beeps with a screen flash you can release the power button and try turning it on again.

The Edge Turns on but Only While It Is Being Charged

If your Edge will not turn on or stay turned on while on battery power, the device will need to be replaced. You can request an exchange using the following tool: Garmin's Online Exchange for the Edge 130 .
