Syncing Data to Your Device Using a USB Cable on a Professional Account
After selecting a map1 or making edits to your data, such as contacts, preset messages, or quick text messages, you must sync your device. For supported devices, the inReach Sync desktop application can be used with a USB cable to sync changes. The inReach Sync application is also required to update maps1 and device firmware.
The inReach Sync application supports these devices:
inReach Explorer® and inReach Explorer+
inReach SE® and inReach SE+
inReach® Mini
NOTE: You must use the Garmin Express™ application to install firmware updates for the inReach Mini device.
Legacy inReach devices (inReach for Android, inReach for PN-60w, inReach for Smartphones)
NOTE: Other Garmin® devices, including some Garmin devices with inReach technology, must sync using the Garmin Explore™ app.
Connect the USB cable to your device and your computer.
Select the UPDATE & SYNC tab.
If you have not previously installed the inReach Sync application, select Download and Install inReach Sync, and install the application on your computer.
Check the box next to the Device you want to sync.
Select Launch inReach Sync to open the application.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sync.
The inReach Sync application copies the changes and available map1 and firmware updates to the device. You may need to restart your device to apply firmware updates.
1 Map updates are only compatible with the inReach Explorer+.
