Automotive Device Shutting Down when Activating Voice Command

If your device shuts down whenever voice command is activated, there may be an issue with the device's speech recognition files. To correct the issue, restore the speech recognition files with Garmin Express.

To Restore the Speech Recognition File in Garmin Express:

  1. Connect the device to the computer
  2. Click Tools & Content
  3. Scroll down to the Optional Updates section
  4. Expand Language Files
  5. Check the desired language(s)
  6. Click Install Now

Once the download is complete, an "Updates complete!" message will appear near the top of the window. Voice command should now work properly on your device.
