Choosing the Appropriate Force Trolling Motor Shaft Length

To avoid cavitation and ensure proper motor operation, selecting an appropriate shaft length for a Force® Trolling Motor is necessary. Measure the distance between the surface of the boat’s bow to the waterline in calm water conditions. Use the table below to select the correct shaft length:

IMPORTANT: If large waves are often present when fishing, do the following: 

• • • Add 8" to the measurement before using the table below to select a shaft length

    • If the measurement falls within the overlapping ranges, select the longer shaft length

NOTE: The Force Kraken Trolling Motor is measured from the bottom of the shaft cap to the top of the prop drive.
