Database Error When Marking a Waypoint or Archiving a Track on an Outdoor Handheld
If you find that your Garmin outdoor handheld is providing a Database Error message while marking a waypoint or archiving a track, the following steps can be performed to resolve the issue.
Software Update
First, confirm that your Garmin outdoor handheld has the most current software and has been registered to your account with Garmin Express™ while connected to a computer.

Device Reset
Before resetting, you can back up any important data using our free BaseCamp™ program. For steps, see - Backing up, Viewing, and Transferring Data Using BaseCamp. Select your device below for instructions on resetting:
Once these steps have been completed, the device should function properly.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, the device needs to be replaced. Contact Product Support.
