G500/G600 GDU Software version 7.36: 

  • Added GWX 70 support for Ground Clutter Suppression and Turbulence Detection with a 10-inch
    antenna.
  •  Added GSU 75 configuration support for AHRS and GPS antenna locations.
  • Added configuration to disable AHRS and ADC cross side data monitoring.
  • Added configuration setting to force Baro and CDI sync.
  • Added mode annunciations from the GFC 600H.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the autopilot to pitch up when intercepting the glideslope.

G500/G600 GDU Software Version 7.00

COMPLIANCE:

PURPOSE:

G500/G600 GDU Software version 7.00:

  •  Enhanced MFD graphics and terrain resolution.
  • New MFD functions include; Smart Airspace, airspace altitudes, Geo-Referenced FliteCharts, range
    to altitude arc, and full screen display of external video.
  • Database Sync will update G500/G600 databases from a connected GTN 6XX/7XX (GTN v5.13 or
    later required).
  • New PFD functions include; Timer/Clock, LP+V approach annunciation, and pilot selectable OAT
    units (i.e. TAT, SAT, and ISA).
  • New power line alerting with TAWS-B (G600) and Synthetic Vision (G500 and G600).
  • GTN 6XX/7XX TAWS alerting (if enabled) will drive the G500/G600 system to eliminate TAWS alert
    timing differences (GTN v5.10 or later required). Other external TAWS sources may impact particular
    SVT functions.
  • New interface approvals include:
    • GDL 88 ADS-B transceiver- New ADS-B traffic and weather display and control.
    • GTS 825/855 traffic system- TAS/TCAS I.
    • WX-500 Stormscope®.
    • GRA 5500/55 radar altimeter.
    • Cessna 300B/400B/800B/1000 autopilots, replace existing AA-801 altitude preselector.
    • GMU 44 magnetometer replacements, standard and low-clearance units.
  • Added support for GWX 70 advanced features (i.e. Turbulence Detection and Altitude Compensated
    Tilt).
  • Added support for GWX 68/70 radar display on multiple displays.
  •  New GDL 69 datalink weather products (i.e. icing, turbulence, and AIREP/PIREP) and Canadian
    weather products.F
  • FliteCharts now display the ownship position.
  • Expanded APC-65 autopilot computers applicability for the attitude interface.
  • Expanded Collins DME-42 interface to include parallel DME channeling.
  • Added Mid-Continent MD302 as acceptable attitude, altitude, and airspeed standby indicator.
  • This STC (SA02153LA-D) now includes G500 units (previously approved by STC SA215SE-D).
    Future G500 installations and updates should refer to this STC and use the new G500 MDL. Garmin
    does not intend to update G500 STC SA0215SE-D for future software updates. See MODIFICATION
    INTRUCTIONS for existing G500 installations.

Issues addressed in this STC update:

  • Service Advisory 1309, regarding verification of the displayed heading not noticeably drifting prior to
    takeoff, this issue was addressed in GRS 77 V3.04.
  • Service Advisory 1421, regarding display of outside air temperature, the GDU 620 software version
    7.00 adds pilot selectable OAT units to match POH/AFM temperature display units.
  • Installation Bulletin 1430, the Installation Manual has been updated regarding Flight Director Setting
    and applicability for installations with Century IV, 41, or 2000 Autopilots.
  • Installation Bulletin 1437, the installation Manual has been updated regarding installations interfaced
    with KRA 405 Rad Alt.
  • Installation Bulletin 1444, the Installation Manual has been updated regarding configuration settings
    and note applicability for installations with a Cessna 1000 IFCS Autopilot.
  • Service Advisory 1510, regarding unexpected display issues such as flashing “NO AP DATA”
    annunciation or intermittent display of the Flight Director cue with GDU 620 software v6.21, GDU 620
    software version 7.00 corrected the database card issue.
