Guidance for Your Replacement vivo Device or Part

Now that you have received your replacement Garmin device you can complete the exchange by removing the original device from the Garmin app and adding the replacement device to your account.

NOTE: If you have created a Garmin Pay wallet on your watch, the wallet will be deleted when you remove the watch from the Connect app. You will need to recreate your Garmin Pay wallet once you have added your replacement device to the app.

Removing a Device From the Garmin Connect App

Android Instructions

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Press and hold the image of the Garmin device that you want to remove.

  5. Select Remove Device from the pop-up box.

  6. Acknowledge the message by selecting REMOVE.

    IMPORTANT: The device will still be paired under the Bluetooth settings of your mobile device. You must remove the Garmin device from these settings as well. Your settings may vary based on the model of your phone. Consult your phone's owner manual for specific steps. 

  7. Access the settings menu of your Android device and select Bluetooth.

  8. Under PAIRED DEVICES select the gear icon icon next to the Garmin device you are removing.

  9. Select Unpair.

  10. Restart the Garmin device and your mobile device.

The device is now removed from the Garmin Connect app and the smartphone or tablet's Bluetooth settings. 


Apple Instructions

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select the image of the Garmin device that you want to remove.

  5. Select three dots (upper right corner).

  6. Select Remove Device.

  7. Confirm the pop-up message by selecting Remove.

    IMPORTANT: The device will still be paired under the Bluetooth settings of the smartphone or tablet. You must remove the device from these settings as well. 

  8. Access the settings menu of your Apple device and select Bluetooth.

  9. Under MY DEVICES select the circle with lowercase i icon next to the Garmin device you are removing.

  10. Select Forget This Device.

    • If a Garmin device is powered on and within range of the phone, it may automatically show up under DEVICES. Do not pair your Garmin device from this screen. 

  11. Force-close the Garmin Connect app (see How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch).

  12. Restart the Garmin device and your mobile device.

The device is now removed from the Garmin Connect app and the smartphone or tablet's Bluetooth settings.


Adding a Device to the Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select Add Device.

  5. Choose your device.

  6. Place your Garmin device into pairing mode. This allows the Garmin Connect app to find it.

    • This setting is typically found under Settings > Bluetooth or Phone > Pair Mobile Device or Pair Phone. Refer to your owner's manual for specific steps. 

    • Edge devices: If you only see "Smartphone" select it and then select the option to Forget Phone. You will now see the option to Pair.

  7. From the Garmin Connect app select Start or Connect it.

  8. Input the six-digit code from the Garmin device into the prompt on the phone.

Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the setup of your device. A sync should occur during this process and your Garmin device should display a green dot from the My Day view of the Garmin Connect app, indicating a connection with your mobile device.

NOTE: The following instructions are only for devices that pair directly through the Garmin Golf app during setup and is not applicable for devices pairing through the Garmin Connect app. For information on devices that pair through the Garmin Connect app, see the Garmin Connect app section above.

Removing a Device From the Garmin Golf App

  1. Open the Garmin Golf app.

  2. Select Three Horizontal Lines Icon.

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Press and hold the image of the Garmin device that you want to remove.

    NOTE: You will be taken to the Garmin Connect app to complete the process if you own a device that pairs to Garmin Connect then the Golf app. For instructions, see- Removing a Wearable Device from Garmin Connect.

  5. Select Remove Device from the pop-up box.

  6. Touch Remove.

    NOTE: The device may still be paired under the Bluetooth settings of your Android device. You may have to remove the device from these settings as well. Settings vary based on the model of your Android mobile device. Consult your Android device's owner's manual for specific steps. 

The device is now removed from the Garmin Golf app and the smartphone or tablet's Bluetooth settings. 


Apple Instructions

  1. Open the Garmin Golf app.

  2. Select More.

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select the image of the Garmin device that you want to remove.

  5. Select Golf App Three Orange Dots .

  6. Select Remove Device.

    NOTE: You will be taken to the Garmin Connect app to complete the process if you own a device that pairs directly with the Garmin Connect app. For instructions, see- Removing a Wearable Device from Garmin Connect

  7. Select Remove.

    NOTE: The device may still be paired under the Bluetooth settings of your Apple device. You may have to remove the device from these settings as well. Settings vary based on the model of your Apple device. Consult your Apple device's owner's manual for specific steps. 

The device is now removed from the Garmin Golf app and the smartphone or tablet's Bluetooth settings.

NOTE: Removing the watch from the Garmin Dive app will automatically remove it from the Garmin Connect app. If you have created a Garmin Pay wallet on your watch, the wallet will be deleted. You will need to recreate your Garmin Pay wallet once you have added your device back to the app.

These instructions are the same for both Android and Apple devices.
  1. Open the Garmin Dive app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your Descent.

  5. Select Three Dots.

  6. Select Remove Device.

  7. Select Remove from the pop-up box to confirm.

    IMPORTANT: The device will still be paired in the Bluetooth settings of the smartphone. You will need to remove the device from these settings as well. Settings vary based on the model of your phone. Consult your phone's owner's manual for specific steps.

Your Descent watch is now removed from the Garmin Dive app and your phone or tablet's Bluetooth settings.


Adding a Descent Watch in the Garmin Dive App

These instructions are the same for both Android and Apple devices.
  1. Open the Garmin Dive app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select Add Device.

  5. Place your watch into pairing mode. Refer to your owner's manual for specific steps. 

  6. Select Connect It when your watch is found.

  7. Enter the code from the face of the watch.

  8. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the pairing.

Your Descent watch and the Garmin Dive app are now paired.
