Instructions to Sync iHeartRadio Content to a Garmin MARQ

This article will provide the steps to use the iHeartRadio app on your MARQ series watch.

NOTE: The following are requirements need to be met before music can be synced

Requirements

Once the requirements are met, three major steps need to be completed if this is your first time using the app. If you have already installed and set up the iHeartRadio app, steps on syncing content are found under Sync Music to the MARQ series.

Download and Install the iHeartRadio Connect IQ App
  1. Select the following link to download the app: iHeartRadio Playlist Sync app
  2. Select  button
  3. If prompted, sign into your Garmin account
  4. Select your device to download the app
  5. Acknowledge any app permission requests
  6. Sync your device
    • To sync via Bluetooth: Be in range of your paired Smartphone, press and hold the power key to access the Controls Menu. Select  to sync
    • To sync via Wi-Fi: Be in range of your Wi-Fi network, press and hold the power key to access the Controls Menu. Select  to sync
    • To sync using Garmin Express:  Connect device using supplied power/data cable to computer. Open Garmin Express. Sync will automatically occur once device is detected. 

The iHeartRadio app will now be installed onto your device.

Setup the iHeartRadio Connect IQ App

Note: The watch must be able to connect to a previously connected Wi-Fi network. You will also need your smartphone that is paired to your device.

  1. On the watch, press and hold the Down Key
  2. Press and hold Menu key to access settings
  3. Select Music Providers
  4. Select iHeartRadio
    • The watch will search and connect to Wi-Fi
  5. The screen should prompt you to visit www.iheart.com/activate. The code provided on the watch will tie it to your iHeartRadio All Access account. Use a mobile device or personal computer to complete this step. Once completed allow up to a few minutes for the watch to be tied to your iHeart account.

Sync Music to the MARQ Series Watch

  1. On the watch, press and hold the Down Key
  2. Press and hold Menu key to access settings
  3. Select Music Providers
  4. Select iHeartRadio
  5. Select Playlists
    • The watch will display Playlists that you have created through your iHeartRadio account.
      • To create a playlist view the following FAQ here
      • To load user created playlists, search and select your content here.  Note: You must "Follow" a playlist for it to be saved to your My Music folder. 
  6. Choose playlists you want to sync to your watch.
  7. Select Done
  8. Press the Back button and select Yes to “Start music sync now?”
