Smart Notifications on a Garmin dezl OTR500 and Garmin dezl LGV/OTR700

Smart Notifications will display notifications from your Android or iPhone device on your Garmin automotive device so they can be read or heard safely without having to reach for your phone. The 25 most recent notifications from your phone will be stored on your Garmin device.

The phone must have the dezl App installed to connect to the Garmin device and use this feature.

To Use this Feature with Apple iOS:

NOTE: No configuration is needed for Smart Notifications in the dezl App for Apple iOS. The smart notifications sent to the Garmin device are configured in your iPhone’s settings iphone settings wheel  > Notifications.

Any notification enabled on your phone will be sent to the Garmin device.

1. Open the dezl App on your phone and set your phone to Find Me/Discoverable mode

Refer to the owner's manual of the phone if you are not sure how to set it to Find Me/Discoverable mode.

2. Touch Settings from the Garmin device

3. Touch Wireless Networks.

4. Check the box next to Bluetooth if no checkmark is present

5. Touch Garmin dezl in the dezl App

  

6. Touch Find Garmin Device

7. Touch the name of the Garmin device from the list of compatible Bluetooth devices in the area

8. Touch Pair, if prompted on the Garmin device

9. Touch OK, if prompted

10. Enter or confirm the code and touch Pair on the phone, if prompted

11. Touch Sign In. Touch Create Account if you don't have an account.

12. Enter your email and password and touch Next

You will now be able to view or listen to notifications from your phone on your Garmin device.


To Use this Feature with Android:

1. Open the dezl App on your phone and set your phone to Find Me/Discoverable mode

Refer to the owner's manual of your phone if you are not sure how to set it to Find Me/Discoverable mode.

2. Touch Settings from the Garmin device

3. Touch Wireless Networks

4. Check the box next to Bluetooth if no checkmark is present

5. Touch Garmin dezl in the dezl App

6. Touch Continue if prompted


7. Touch Enable, if prompted


8. The app will begin searching for the device.

9. Touch Yes on the Garmin device, if prompted

 

10. Touch OK in the dezl App, if prompted

11. Touch Sign In. Touch Create Account if you don't have an account.

12. Enter your Email and Password and touch Next

13. Touch Set Notification Permissions

 

14. Enable the dezl App

 

15. Touch Allow

 

16. Touch the back arrow



Enabling Smart Notifications within the dezl App:

1. Open the dezl App on your phone

2. Touch the gear icon to open settings

 

3. Touch Smart Notifications

 

4. Select which applications can send notifications to your device

You will now be able to view or listen to notifications from your phone on your Garmin device.
