Why Does Garmin Express Prompt Me to Sign in Before Displaying My Wi-Fi Networks?
Garmin Express protects the Wi-Fi network credentials you have saved to your Garmin device by requiring you to sign in to your Garmin Connect account before displaying your Wi-Fi networks. After disconnecting your Garmin device from your computer, the next time you navigate to Tools & Content > Utilities in Garmin Express, you will be prompted to sign in again before Garmin Express will display your saved Wi-Fi networks.
Troubleshooting the Connection to the Wi-Fi with My Device
If you are having trouble connecting your device to a Wi-Fi network, below are some suggestions you can try to resolve this issue.
Ensure that Garmin Express indicates that the Wi-Fi network is set up.
Ensure the device software is up to date by syncing with Garmin Express.
If it just updated, you will need to unplug the device from the computer in order to get those updates finalized on the Fitness Device.
Attempt to connect to a different available Wi-Fi network such as a personal Wi-Fi hotspot.
Additional carrier fees may apply. Check with your service provider if you have any questions.
Select Sign In, then sign in to your Garmin Connect account.
Garmin Express protects the saved Wi-Fi network credentials on your Garmin Device by requiring a sign-in to your Garmin Connect account before the networks will be displayed.
Select for the Wi-Fi network you wish to remove.
Confirm the Device is Connected Properly to Wi-Fi
NOTE: Disable Bluetooth if the device is paired to the Garmin Connect app. This will prevent the activity from being uploaded via Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi.
Record and save a 20-second test activity on your Garmin device.
Wait approximately 30 seconds for the device to establish a Wi-Fi connection and transfer the activity.
If successful, the device will display a message indicating the transfer is complete.
If one minute elapses without the device displaying a message, check Garmin Connect to see if the activity appears.
If the activity appears in the Connect account, Wi-Fi is functioning properly.
Activity Does Not Appear in Connect
If the activity does not appear in Connect, either the Wi-Fi connection is failing, the date on the device is wrong, or Connect is unable to accept the upload at this time
Check the Connect Status Page to verify there are no outages. If there is currently an outage, you will need to wait for the issue to be resolved.
Ensure that the date reported by the device is correct.
If the date is incorrect, activities will be processed and uploaded, but will be sorted under the wrong date in Connect.
If an activity was recorded and the device was away from the Wi-Fi for over an hour, the activity will not automatically upload. You will need to activate a manual Wi-Fi sync on your device.
