Sending Xero Locations to an Oregon 700 Series
Xero Locations can be sent from a Xero A1i, A1i PRO, or X1i to an Oregon 700 series handheld to navigate to the estimated shot location or save it for later. Before getting started, the latest software should be installed on the Xero and handheld. For steps to update, see Related.
NOTE: By default, XERO Locations will be displayed in the app drawer on the handheld. If XERO Locations is missing, refer to your owner's manual for steps to add items to the app drawer.
Using Xero Locations on Your Oregon Handheld
Xero A1i/A1i PRO
- From the main menu, select
.
- Select Laser Locations.
- Select Broadcast Mode.
NOTE: Selecting Private shares Xero Locations only with paired devices; Public allows any compatible Garmin devices in ANT+ range to receive Xero Locations.
Xero X1i
- From the main menu, select
.
- Select Xero Locations.
- Select Broadcast Mode.

Xero A1i/A1i PRO
- From the main menu, select
.
- Select the Shot you want to send to the handheld.
- Select Yes and wait for A1i/A1i PRO to show the transfer is complete.
Xero X1i
- From the main menu, select Xero Locations.
- Select the Shot you want to send to the handheld.
- Select Yes and wait for X1i to show the transfer is complete.
- Tap the power key on the handheld to access the app drawer.
- Select XERO Locations.
A "New XERO Location added" message will appear when the handheld receives a XERO Location. - Select Yes to navigate to the location.
A Direct Route to the estimated location of the shot will be shown on the map.
Selecting No will save the received Xero Location to the handheld without navigating to it.
Troubleshooting if Xero Is Unable to Find the Handheld
If the Xero is having trouble finding the handheld, the following suggestions may help.
If the handheld is attempting to pair via Bluetooth to another device, the Xero may not be able to connect. Turning Bluetooth off on the handheld can help while connecting, then can be turned back on once the handheld and Xero have been paired.
- Tap the power key to access the app drawer.
- Select Set Up.
- Select Bluetooth.
- Select Status and set to Off.
Xero A1i/A1i PRO
- From the main menu, select
.
- Select Laser Locations.
- Select Forget Device.
Xero X1i
- From the main menu, select
.
- Select Xero Locations.
- Select Forget Device.
After the handheld has been forgotten, the pairing process can be started again.
