Finding the MAC Address on a Wi-Fi Enabled Automotive Device
Wi-Fi enabled automotive devices will each have a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address, which is an identification number used when communicating over a wireless network. Though it is typically not necessary to know your device's MAC address when connecting via Wi-Fi, it may be helpful to know if you use your device in an advanced network setup.
To locate your device's MAC address:
- Touch Settings
- Touch Device
- Touch About
The MAC address will be displayed on this screen, along with other device information such as Unit ID and software version.
The process for entering your device's MAC address into your network's hardware or software will vary widely, depending on your specific setup. Please consult with your network's administrator or the manufacturer of its hardware for details on how to use a MAC address with your network.
