USB Voice Control Bundle Compatible Headsets

The software update for GPSMAP chartplotters, version 27.00, will provide support for the USB Voice Control Bundle. The table below will show the headsets which are considered compatible with the USB Voice Control Bundle.

Category Definitions

Compatible Headset Minimum Requirements: 

• Bluetooth Classic Handsfree Profile (HFP) 1.6 or higher

• Support for the mSBC codec at 16 kHz in both directions

• Headset manufacturers frequently brand the above specs as "HD Voice" or "Wideband Speech"

Recommended Headset Additional Features Which Help in a Marine Noise Environment:

• Meets at least the Compatible requirements, plus one ore more of the following . . .

  • Noise suppression

  • Multiple microphones

  • Boom microphone – or any feature that allows the mic to be closer to the mouth
