Exporting GPX Files from the Garmin Explore App
The Garmin Explore™ app allows users to share GPS Exchange (GPX) format files to local phone storage, Garmin Connect™ app, SMS, email, or social media. Single items (waypoints, tracks, routes, activities, and courses) or entire Collections can be exported.
How to Export GPX Files in the Garmin Explore App
Open the Garmin Explore app.
Select
Saved.Select the collection you wish to export.
NOTE: You can swipe left or right and then select a collection or you can select View All and then select a collection.
Select Share.
Select a share destination.
Open the Garmin Explore app.
Select
Saved.Select the course, track, route, or waypoint you wish to export.
NOTE: If the item you wish to export is in a collection, swipe left or right under Collections or select View All, select a collection, then select the item you wish to export. You can also scroll down and select the item you wish to export under All Items.
Select
.Select Share.
Select a share destination.
The file is exported and shared in standard GPX format.
NOTE: Some smartphone apps may not read the .GPX file format and instead interpret shared items from the Garmin Explore app as .XML files or other file types. Additionally waypoint symbols or line colors may not stay the same when exported.
Activities cannot be exported as .FIT files from the Garmin Explore app.
If you are needing the .FIT file for an activity, the compatible handheld can be used with Garmin Express™ software on a computer to sync the activity into the Garmin Connect™ app. For more information, see - Syncing a Garmin Handheld with Garmin Express for Garmin Connect.
After the activity is synced into Garmin Connect, it can then be exported out of Garmin Connect for use in other programs. For more information, see - How Do I Export Data Out of Garmin Connect?
