This option is used for picking the device you will be using for the Live Event Sharing session. To change the device selected, select Devices, then select the device you want to use.

Toggle on Live Event Sharing to start sharing event information. Your Live Event Sharing recipients will begin receiving messages when you start an activity. Sharing is turned off automatically after 24 hours.

You can add up to 5 recipients' phone numbers to have automatic text messages sent about your event. Select Recipients > Add Recipients or Edit Recipients to add a recipient. Recipients need to opt in to receive text messages from Garmin related to Live Event Sharing. To send an opt in request, select Send Request and follow on screen prompts. To delete a recipient, swipe from right to left on their name.

Message Options allows you to select what information is included in the event text messages, and when text messages are sent. 

Message Content

• Cumulative Time - Total time of the activity at the time the text was sent. 

• Pace or Speed - Average pace or speed for the activity. 

• Last Lap Time - How long it took to complete the last distance set for the lap. 

• Estimated Completion Time - The estimated time it will take you to complete the event. Available distance options include 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon or Custom. Custom has a distance limit of 20 miles.

Message Triggers

• Start - Sends a text at the start of the event.

• Transitions - Sends a text when transitioning activities during the event. During a triathlon, a text would be sent when transitioning from running to swimming for example. 

• End - Sends a text at the end of the event.

• Every Lap - Sends a text at the end of every lap, as determined by the lap settings of your Garmin device. 

• Based on Distance - Sends a text based on the custom distance you select. For example, if you select 1.0 miles, a text will be sent every mile. To change the distance, select Custom Distance and input a new distance.

• Based on Time - Sends a text based on the time you select. For example, if you select 20 minutes, a text will be sent every 20 minutes. To change the time, select Time and choose a new time.
