How to Install Software Updates to My D2 Charlie Watch
D2™ Charlie watch software should be kept up-to-date in order to take advantage of improvements and bug fixes. Updates are free, and easy to install. Software updates can be installed through Garmin Connect™ app or Garmin Express™ program.
Garmin Connect App
The Garmin Connect app will only download software updates automatically behind the scenes while your device is connected to your mobile phone. There are no steps required to obtain the latest software. Once an update has been sent to the watch, the watch will automatically install the update, or prompt the user for further action. Garmin Express
Garmin Express provides the ability to check for software automatically each time the device is connected to a computer. For information on downloading and installing Garmin Express, see - How Do I Install Garmin Express?
Updating the D2 Charlie Series Software Through Garmin Express Program
IMPORTANT: If this is your first time using a computer with your watch, you will need to download and install Garmin Express™ software.
- Connect your watch to your computer with the USB charging cable.
- Launch the Garmin Express program.
- Select your watch.
- NOTE: If this is your first time using the Garmin Express program, see - Adding and Removing Devices in Garmin Express.
- The Garmin Express program will then display the available updates. Select Install or Install All.
- Review and accept any prompts for Terms and Conditions or Important Notes.
- Once complete, disconnect your device from the computer and the watch will ask if you want to "Install Now" or "Install Tonight". If you do not receive this prompt, or if you select "Install Tonight", you can still access the update from the System menu on the watch:
- From the main menu on the watch, select or scroll to Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Software Update.
- Select Update Available.
My Garmin Watch is Not Recognized by Garmin Express Software
