Finding the Operating System Version on a Mac or Windows Computer

Garmin applications have operating system requirements that must be met to install and run correctly on both Mac and Windows computers.

Windows:

Garmin software will not currently run on Windows RT.

To determine the version of Windows that is running on the computer follow these steps:

1. Press the Windows key + R
2. Type winver.exe
3. Press the Enter key or click OK
4. About Windows screen will provide the name of the operating system running on the computer
5. Press the Enter key or Click OK to close the About screen

Mac:

To determine the version of macOS that is running on the computer follow these steps:

1. Click the Apple Icon in the top left corner
2. Click About This Mac
3. The macOS name and version number will be displayed in the Overview tab

This should provide the operating system version running on the computer. This information is important so that the system requirements are properly met for applications to install properly.

Google Chrome OS, Linux, and other operating systems are not compatible with Garmin applications at this time.
