Marine chart could not be authenticated

Garmin has undertaken efforts to ensure only Garmin authorized map content is shown on our chartplotters. This provides the best user experience by ensuring that unknown content from unauthorized providers does not adversely effect the user experience.

If you are receiving this message and the map in question is listed as version 12.00 or newer (2011 purchases and newer), the map is not a Garmin supported map. You should return the map to the seller. All maps prior to version 12.00 (2011) are no longer supported, even if they were authentic Garmin maps. It is strongly recommended to update chart content as Garmin releases chart updates twice per year.

A one-time 90-day grace period will be provided, during which you will have access to any unauthentic maps or maps older than version 12.00. After the grace period, the unauthentic maps will not be supported. A message will appear on the chartplotter stating the grace period has ended during each power cycle or every time the card is inserted.

If multiple cards are plugged into the system it may be unclear which card is the unauthentic card. In this case, remove all cards and reinsert them one by one. A message will appear for each card that is not authentic.

If this message is being presented, attempt to return the card to the seller if it was newly purchased. Or purchase an new updated chart. Chart cards are offered at many Garmin Dealers, or directly from Garmin.com.
