Using Map Manager on Edge Cycling Computers
Compatible Edge® cycling computers feature the ability to update, install, and remove maps directly on the Edge via Wi-Fi®, in addition to on Garmin Express™.

Add a Wi-Fi Network
On the Edge:
Select the menu.
Select Connected Features.
Select Wi-Fi.
Select Add Network.
On the Garmin Connect App:
Select More.
Select Garmin Devices.
Select Wi-Fi Networks.
Select Add a Network.
Manage Maps
Update or Remove Existing Maps
Existing maps will occasionally require updates to ensure map details are accurate, or need to be removed to create space for other regions.
Select the menu.
Select System.
Select Map Manager.
Select Cycling Maps or Other Maps.
Select Download Update to update to current version.
To Remove Map, Select (3 dots) > Remove.
Add New Maps
Select the menu.
Select System.
Select Map Manager.
Select
.Select a region.
Select Download Update.
The download will occur in the background, and may pause if your device is out of Wi-Fi range, the battery is low, or you are in an activity. Speeds for the download can vary based on internet speeds and the number of other connected devices on the Wi-Fi network. Garmin Express™ can sometimes provide a more stable connection if your Wi-Fi signal is weak.
You will see the status of your download in the menu bar:

NOTE: Refer to this FAQ for information on which maps will come pre-loaded on your Edge computer.
Effective May 7. 2025, Garmin Cycle Maps for Edge® cycling computers and Garmin® watches are being discontinued. The same mapping content will now be included in our TopoActive maps and can be purchased or downloaded on compatible devices. For more information on Garmin TopoActive maps, see Current Version of TopoActive Maps. To update the maps on your Edge, refer to Verifying the Maps Installed on a Garmin Edge Device or your owner's manual.
