Instructions to Sync Deezer Content to a vivoactive 3 Music

This article will provide the following steps to use the Deezer Connect IQ app on your Forerunner 645 Music:

• Download and Install the Deezer Connect IQ App
• Setup the Deezer Connect IQ App
• Load music from Deezer to the vivoactive 3 Music

NOTE: The following are requirements to use Deezer with the vivoactive 3 Music:

• Garmin Connect Mobile must be installed on your Smartphone
• vivoactive 3 Music needs to be paired to Garmin Connect Mobile
• vivoactive 3 Music needs to be set up to connect to a Wi-Fi Network. For help see: Adding Wi-Fi Networks to Compatible Watches with Garmin Connect Mobile
• vivoactive 3 Music needs to be paired with Bluetooth Headphones. For help see: Connecting Headphones using Bluetooth Technology

Download and Install the Deezer Connect IQ App

1. Select the following link to download the app:  Deezer Connect IQ App

2. Select  from the page.

3. If prompted, sign into your Garmin account

4.  Select the vivoactive 3 Music to download the app

5. Acknowledge any app permission requests

6. Sync your device

• To sync via Bluetooth: Be in range of your paired Smartphone, press and hold the key to access the Controls Menu. Select  to sync
• To sync via Wi-Fi: Be in range of your Wi-Fi network, press and hold the key to access the Controls Menu. Select  to sync
• To sync using Garmin Express:  Connect device using supplied power/data cable to computer.  Open Garmin Express.  Sync will automatically occur once device is detected. 

The Deezer app will now be installed onto the vivoactive 3 Music.

Set up the Deezer Connect IQ App

NOTE: Device must be able to connect to a previously connected Wi-Fi network.  You will also need your smartphone that is paired to your device. 

1. Swipe to the Music Playback Controls widget

2. Select  and then Manage
   
   
   
   

3. Select Music Providers

4. Select Deezer

   • The watch will seach and connect to Wi-Fi

5. Once connected, The vivoactive 3 Music will display a message to Open Garmin Connect Mobile app to sign in.  At the same time, your smartphone should display a notification similar to this:

   

6. Acknowledge message on the phone which will take you to Deezer.  Depending on whether you have an account, the login process will be as follows:

   • Existing Deezer users: Enter your login details and select Log In.  From here, continue to the next section of this FAQ: Sync Music to the vivoactive 3 Music
     
     
   • New to Deezer: Tap the Register here button, and follow the steps to create your account.  Wait a few moments then proceed to step 7.

7. On the watch, you will be prompted to visit dzr.fm/garminus along with a code.  
   
   IMPORTANT For US Customers: complete step 8 from a web browser on a personal computer.  This will ensure that you receive a free 90-day trial of Deezer. 

8. Enter the code from your watch on the site and select Redeem

   

9. Log into your Deezer account 

   

10. If prompted, enter credit card details to complete the process.  
    
    

Sync Music to the vivoactive 3 Music

NOTE: Device must be able to connect to a previously connected Wi-Fi network.

1. From your Deezer account, create playlists.  Saved playlists will display as optional music to sync on your device.  For more information see Deezer Support.

2. From the vivoactive 3 Music swipe to the Music Playback Controls widget

3. Select  and then Manage

4. Select Music Providers

5. Select Deezer

6. Select My Playlists

7. Choose playlists you want to sync to your watch.

8. Exit by swiping back until you see the message "Ready to sync?".  Select Yes to begin syncing music.
   
   

The amount of time required to sync music will depend on the number of songs being syncing, speed of the internet the device is connected to and the quality of the Wi-Fi signal.
