Connecting the Approach R10 to The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App is a third party service available for you to simulate rounds of golf with your Approach R10. You will be able to play virtual rounds using photorealistic courses from home whenever you want. 

Requirements

  • TGC2019 software installed on your computer
  • Compatible Smartphone
  • Approach R10 paired to Garmin Golf app, see steps below .
  • The Garmin Golf app must be running in the background in order for the SimLink app to connect to the R10.
  • The phone needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the computer.
  • If your computer has multiple network connections (i.e. hardwired and wireless) you will have to enter the correct IP address. 

How to Find Your IP Address in Windows

  1. Select Start.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Network & Internet.
  4. Select Wi-Fi.
  5. Select the Wi-Fi network you're connected to.
  6. Under Properties, look for your IP address listed next to IPv4 address. 

Connecting to The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

The app is intended to be used to connect your Garmin Approach R10 device to a Windows computer running The Golf Club 2019 Simulator version.


Connecting the Garmin Approach R10 With Garmin Golf

To use this device, you must pair it with the Garmin Golf app.

  • From the app store on your smartphone, install and open the Garmin Golf app.
  • Bring your smartphone near your device.
  • Press the button to turn on your device.
  • The first time you turn on the device, it automatically enters pairing mode, and the status LED is solid blue.

TIP: You can hold the button while the device is off until the status LED turns solid blue to manually enter pairing mode.
From the Menu in the app, select Garmin Devices > Add Device, and follow the on-screen instructions. 


Connecting The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

  • Make sure your phone is on the same network as the computer is.
  • Make sure the TGC Simulator Console is open.
  • Tap Connect to TGC for the app to search and try to connect with TGC2019.

After successfully connecting make sure the Approach R10 is flashing green. If this is not the case, please press the button on the back of the Garmin Device to power it off, and then again to power it back on. 


Troubleshooting the Connection to The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

  • Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on the device.
  • Make sure you gave permission to the app to use Bluetooth.
  • The Garmin Approach R10 is connected to a different device.
    • Try holding down the button on the back of the Approach R10 until it is solid blue and follow the steps in Garmin Golf to connect the Approach R10 again.
  • The Garmin Approach R10 is not in range or not turned on.
