The Software Update on My Rally Pedals Failed
A software update may fail to install to a set of Rally power meter pedals if the battery level in the pedals is too low, or if the paired device lost connection with the pedals during the update.
Rally Power Meter Software Update Failure Symptoms
A software update failure can present itself in a couple of different ways which are described below along with a solution should you encounter the problem.
Software Update Failed Message
A software update failed message on your paired device means that the update did not install to either pedal. This can be due to losing connection during the update process or if the battery level was too low during the installation of the update.
Solution: Replace batteries and reinstall the software update. Make sure that your paired device that is sending the update to the pedals is within 10 feet to maintain connection. NOTE: The update can take up to 10 minutes to install.
Pedals Flash Red/Green and Will Not Connect to Head Unit
Pedals that flash red/green upon waking up and will not connect to a previously paired device, indicates that a software update is attempting to install from the left pedal to the right pedal but it is failing repeatedly.
Solution: Replace batteries on both pedals. Spin the bike crank to wake up the pedals. The update from the left pedal will be installed to the right pedal. NOTE: The update can take up to 10 minutes to install.
