Performing a Factory Reset on a Suspended inReach SE or inReach Explorer

Follow the instructions below to perform a factory reset on a suspended inReach SE or inReach Explorer.


WARNING

Only use these instructions if you cannot access the Settings option on your inReach due to a suspension. See Related Content for instructions on how to perform a factory reset on your device if your unit is not suspended.

Note: Performing a factory reset DOES NOT cancel your inReach service. You must contact DeLorme Customer Care at http://contact.delorme.com to request that your inReach service be cancelled instead of suspended.


  1. Power off the inReach.

  2. Press and hold down the XCheck, and Down button on the directional pad simultaneously.


  3. The device will power on into Firmware Update Mode.


  4. Slide the SOS slider at the bottom of the inReach to the UNLOCKED position.
     
     


  5. Press and hold the SOS button on the inReach unit. The Reset Factory Defaults screen will appear on the device.


  6. Press and hold the Check button to start the factory reset.


  7. While the device is resetting or immediately after the reset is complete slide the SOS slider at the bottom of the inReach to the LOCKED position. You should feel or hear a firm CLICK to indicate that the SOS slider is fully locked.
