Wiring a Garmin VHF 100 or 200 to a NMEA 0183 compliant Chartplotter
To connect the Garmin VHF 100 or VHF 200 to a NMEA 0183 compliant chartplotter, please follow the instructions below:

*Connect both red wires to the positive side of the power source.
**Connect both black wires to the ground side of the power source.
***If the chartplotter does not have a Data Out -, the gray wire of the VHF radio will need to be connected to the common ground of the boat.
****If the chartplotter does not have a Data In -, the brown wire of the VHF radio needs to remain unconnected. The wire should be trimmed, covered and tied back.
