No Courses Near Message on an Approach
This message means that something is preventing the golf courses from being used. To fix this, the golf courses will need to be reloaded to the Approach using our Garmin Express software.
You will need 20 minutes to an hour and these items:
- A computer that connects to the internet
- Garmin Express installed on the computer. To install follow these instructions, null.
- The cable (USB) that came with your Garmin Approach
- Your Garmin Approach with its battery charged or at least half full
Watch the below video tutorial or follow the steps to reload your golf courses:
- Connect your Garmin Approach to the computer using the cable (USB).
- Open the Garmin Express program on your computer.
- You should see your Garmin Approach on the screen (if you don’t then this article can help you with adding a Garmin product to Garmin Express.
- Click the Approach.
- Click the “Courses Options” link. Note: If you only see an option to Install, see this article for help installing updates onto your Approach.
- Under Reinstall Courses. Click Reinstall on the course you want to reload.
- Click Continue, Garmin Express will begin the installation and you will see the “Time Remaining” on the screen.
- The message “Updates Complete” will be displayed when the update is finished. Note: If there were additional software updates available, this would be a good time to load them to your watch. Software updates can improve the performance of your watch overall.
- Disconnect the Approach from the computer and USB cable.
Take the Approach outdoors and start a round of golf, if you don’t see the message anymore your watch is fixed.
