Deleting Tracks in Earthmate
Within the Earthmate application, you can disable or toggle off your tracks under History. This is meant to hide tracks from the map, but is not functioning as intended. You may notice that even after disabling or toggling them off, the tracks are still present on the map.
The solution for this is to delete the tracks in History, which should remove them from the map. Steps for this are below.
NOTE: Any data not uploaded to the Garmin Explore website will be irrevocably lost. Before proceeding, it is a good idea to sync Earthmate and the inReach to ensure your data is in your online account. For steps, see Related
Removing Track Logs in Earthmate
Select your operating system below for steps.
iOS
- Power on the inReach device
- Open Earthmate
- Confirm the inReach is Connected:
- Touch
- Touch My inReach (it may take a moment for the device to appear)
- Touch
- Touch
again
- Select History
- Select the desired date
- Touch
- Select Delete Day
- Select Delete
The selected tracks should no longer appear on the map.
Android
- Power on the inReach device
- Open Earthmate
- Confirm the inReach is Connected:
- Touch
- Touch My inReach (it may take a moment for the device to appear)
- Touch
- Touch
again
- Select Tracking
- Touch
- Select Clear Log
The selected tracks should no longer appear on the map.
My Tracks Are Still Appearing on the Map
If the tracks still appear, they are likely still on the inReach device and are therefore syncing back to Earthmate from the device.
To resolve this, the tracks can either be deleted from the inReach, or it can be reset. Steps for both can be found below.
Deleting Tracks From the inReach
Select your device below for steps.
inReach Mini
- From the home page that displays the time and battery status, scroll down and select Tracking
- Press OK to see the current tracking intervals and start tracking
- Press OK again to reach the tracking menu
- Select Clear Log
- Select Yes
- Select Stop Tracking
inReach SE/Explorer
- Select History
- Tracks are sorted by the date they were recorded, select one from the list
- Select Delete
- Select Delete again
- NOTE: This will also delete any messages and waypoints done that same day
Perform steps 2-4 for any additional dates of tracking data.
inReach SE+/Explorer+
- Select History
- Tracks are sorted by the date they were recorded, select one from the list

After the steps for your device have been completed, you may need to remove track logs from Earthmate again. Click here to be taken back to those steps.
Resetting the inReach
IMPORTANT: Resetting the inReach also resets its settings, so you will need to re-pair with Earthmate on your smartphone/tablet. It is also a good idea to make note of your settings to replicate them after resetting.

- Reset the inReach:
- Select Setup or Settings
- Select Recovery Options
- Select Restore Defaults or Factory Settings
- Plug in and re-sync your inReach on the computer. For steps, see Related
- Uninstall and reinstall the Earthmate app:
- Input your inReach login when prompted
- Pair your inReach:

This should start you with a clean slate in terms of tracks. You may still see waypoints and/or routes depending on what you have syncing to Earthmate from the Garmin Explore website.
Android
