Downloading Charts with ActiveCaptain® app
To download charts, or a portion of a chart in the ActiveCaptain® app, use the following steps:
Open and login to the ActiveCaptain® app
Select Chart
Press the menu button
Select Download Charts1
The map displays a blue rectangle and is positioned based on GPS location. The blue rectangle shape is user-changeable, using pinch to zoom on the corners
Zoom the map in or out to increase or decrease the size of the download coverage area > Move the map to the selected location. Press the Download button
Multiple overlapping charts will prompt the user to choose which chart to use. Press Done
The mobile device requires an internet connection to download charts
Reconnect the ActiveCaptain® app with the chartplotter and the chart will automatically sync.
If the chart download fails:
Make sure the ActiveCaptain® app is up to date; check the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for updates
Force close the ActiveCaptain® app
Restart the smart device (phone or tablet)
Make sure the smart device is connected to a Wi-Fi network; cellular data can be used but Wi-Fi is recommended
Make sure the smart device has ample storage available to cover the chart download

1Before downloading charts, check the download settings and uncheck map layers that are not needed. Leaving all map layers check marked will increase the download time. See Selecting Map Layers in ActiveCaptain for more information.
