Memory Card Requirements for the VIRB X/XE Action Cameras

The VIRB X/XE action cameras have an expandable memory slot in which a microSD card must be inserted before the device can be used. This card allows the unit to boot up and store track information, videos and photos.

The speed that microSD memory cards can read or write data is designated by the class of the card. For the best performance, Garmin recommends using a class 10 card. Higher class UHS (ultra high speed) cards can be used in your VIRB X or XE. MicroSD cards lower than class 10, such as class 4 or 6, may experience stutter, pixelation or lag in the video quality.

The maximum card size you VIRB X or XE can hold is 128 gigabytes (GB).
