Configuring the Data Bar on the Map Page of my GPSMAP 292/298, 392/398, or 492/498 series device

The GPSMAP 292/298, 392/398, or 492/498 series chartplotters can be configured to display various information on the Map Page along the top edge of the screen. To configure the Data Fields, please follow these instructions:

1. With the device powered ON, press the Page button a few times until the Map Page appears
2. Press and hold the DATA CNFG button for a few seconds until a new screen appears
   1. The Map Page of this device can be configured with one or two data bars and each data bars can contain between one and four data fields
   2. The data bars are labeled as Digital 1 and Digital 2
3. Determine how many data fields are needed to display the information desired
   1. If less than four data fields are needed, one data bar can be used
4. If only one data bar is needed, highlight Digital 1 and press the Enter button to place a checkmark beside it
   1. If two data bars are needed, highlight Digital 2 and press the Enter button to place a checkmark beside it
5. Press the Down arrow button to highlight the slider bar below Digital 1 data bar
6. Press the Enter button
7. Press the Left and Right arrow buttons to adjust the amount of data fields that are desired for this data bar
8. Press the Enter button when the appropriate amount of data fields are chosen
9. Press the Down arrow button to highlight the first data field under Digital 1
10. Press the Enter button
11. Choose the data that you wish to be displayed in that data field and press the Enter button
12. Press the Right arrow button to highlight the next data field and repeat steps 10 through 12 until all the data fields are chosen
13. If Digital 2 was turned enabled, please follow steps 5 through 12 to configure it correctly
14. Press the Quit button

The screen should now reflect the amount of data fields that were configured. For more information about configuring the data bars, please refer to the Owner's Manual of the device.
