Dash Cam Player for Mac 2.4 Fails to Convert Unsaved Files to Saved for a Dash Cam 35
Note: New downloads of Garmin's Dash Cam Player software have been discontinued. This means that Garmin no longer offers a desktop application that supports the management of your device's video files; however, many common third-party programs exist which can fulfill this purpose. Some are usually built into the computer (such as Windows Media Player and QuickTime) and others (such as VLC Media Player) can be found online.
Garmin Dash Cam Player 2.4 for the Mac may fail to convert "unsaved" files to "saved" files from a Garmin Dash Cam™ 35 when the application is first installed. After clicking on the "Unsaved" tab, right clicking the file (Ctrl + Click) and selecting the "Convert to saved file", the "Converting" window appears, the progress bar reaches the end but never completes.
When Garmin Dash Cam Player 2.4 for Mac is first installed, it might not have created the folders necessary to complete this conversion process. Disconnect the device from the Mac and try the following solution:
- Turn on the Dash Cam 35
- Record a new unsaved video*
- Take a photo*
- Save a recorded video*
- Reconnect the device to the Mac
- Launch Garmin Dash Cam Player
Garmin Dash Cam Player should successfully convert unsaved files to saved.
